The role of the writter

The role of the writter , Lord of the rings vs BBang

What changes had to be made from the original book to the screen play?

Parts of the story were completley missing such as characters were present were substaintialy alltered. There are many scenes that are left untold in the book. The writters had to go through many many changes to adpt the story and the film together.
  • Making the female characters larger roles in the film
  • taking out (omitting) certain characters in the film look at this site for help
  • Writing an exposition (what has happened before the film starts) scene for the beginning of the film

Big BANG

How does writing a scene for a series filmed in front of a live audience change how you write or re-write dialogue?

Whilst changing the plot they had to change many other things such as losing characters, the characters roles were changing just to adapt the book.
think about

  • Fans role in wanting certain outcomes for their favourite characters
  • discussions had with the actors about dialogue
  • re-writing when an audience does not laugh
